Al Baik Chicken

Today I am going to write about something which is not related to religious activity but its important piece of information.

Since the last 20 years, Al Baik Chicken has become one of the most popular food for the Hujaj during their stay in Makkah, Madinah & Jeddah as well as to the locals staying there.

What is Al Baik Chicken?

Its KFC style fried chicken but a lot better in taste & much cheaper in price. I had promised the kids they will be having fried chicken which is probably the most tastiest chicken they every had and they were not disappointed. We had to walk a bit to get to the place as there is just one outlet close to the Prophets's Mosque (PBUH). To those looking to go there, its a short distance walk from Janat ul Baquee. From Janat ul Baquee, walk towards the right with Janat ul Baquee on your left. You need to take a few turns but its best to ask someone there as everyone seems to know the place. Its in Jazeera Building next to Saudi Arabian Airline Office.

Once you arrive, be prepared to see it packed no matter when you go. Sometimes you may have to wait in the que outside to get in. But trust me, its worth it. You will not regret the walk from the Mosque and the wait in the que once you get your platter of chicken together with its chips, bun & the fantastic garlic sauce in front of you.

The cost is SAR22 which is equivalent to A$7 for 8 pieces of chicken, one large fries & 2 buns. Its big enough for 2 adults & 2 children meal.

Over the years, there has been many request from people around the world to open franchaises in other countries but so far they have not done it. Its mainly confined to the western province of Saudi Arabia concentrated around Jeddah, Makkah & one or two branches in Madinah.
